- A low pressure system is currently located about 120 miles southeast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is producing areas of showers and thunderstorms and is slowly acquiring more tropical characteristics. There is a chance this system could become a depression or tropical storm over the next 24 to 48 hours as it slowly moves south or west. Areas along the North and South Carolina coast will need to monitor this system through the weekend.
- Tropical Depression Aletta has become post-tropical and will continue to dissipate into tonight. This is the final advisory issued on Aletta.
- As of 8 a.m. Pacific Time Saturday, post-tropical cyclone Aletta was located about 585 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, and has top winds near 30 miles per hour.
- Aletta is forecast to continue to weaken to a remnant area of low pressure later through the day and stay well off the coast of Mexico.
- Another area of low pressure several hundred miles south of Acapulco is still being monitored for development.
- This low has not strengthened any over the last few days.
- Atmospheric conditions are only marginally favorable for slow development.
Be prepared, make sure your family is ready to weather the storm.
